I don't understand why this units gets the reviews it does. Every time you use a different stock thickness, the pin location shifts. The ONLY time the dowel is in the center of the stock is when you use the exact stock thickness is is designed for. Yes, the unit adjusts for different stock thicknesses, but the pin location stays constant.

Not too bad for the price. On a long joint, it gets a little unstable with having to move the one half. Also a little difficult to line up the two work pieces. Seems I always had a little edge after joining them.

Overall, I'd recommend it for the price.
