I am so glad I bought 2 of these, especially now that the holiday baking season is here. The beater blade that came with my KitchenAid mixer was a little frustrating to use because I seemed to need to stop and scrape around the edges too often. Not anymore. I'm enjoying using my mixer a lot more now. Yay!

This fit my kitchenaid stand mixer beautifully and works like a dream. With my regular attachments I would often have to scrape down the sides of the bowl. However, this blade takes care of it for me so ingredients get incorporated evenly without fear of overmixing for things like cakes. Highly recommended.

This beater is very effective, and does what it says: it completely eliminates bowl scraping!
However, as other reviewers have stated, it flings dry ingredients up out of the bowl, all over the counter. I finally figured out how to use this most effectively: I use the old scraper blade that came with my KitchenAid until the dry ingredients are just incorporated, then I switch to the new blade to finish the job. Voila - no dry ingredients all over the place, and no bowl scraping, either.
February 2010 update: I finally figured out that if I adjust the depth of the beater blade into the bowl so that it doesn't scrape the bottom so hard, that the flinging problem is much alleviated. Duh.
