I had been looking for one of these handy pull-out towel racks for years. I grew up with one under the kitchen sink; light, roller mounted, low-inertia. When I received this thing I was flabbergasted: it weighs around 3 pounds. The rods are of 3/8" steel (1/4 would have been plenty!)and there are no rollers! It "slides' on a block of not very slippery plastic in a U-channel of chromed steel. I used a pull-gauge to measure it: 8 pounds of force to get it started moving, tapering to about 5, with no towels. The plastic block is not chamfered, so the surface contact extends all the way to the corners, increasing the drag. I tried to contact the manufacturer, and talked to some honey with a drawl that told me to 'squirt some Pledge on it!' to make it work better, and that their "roller bearing model" is a higher quality item. I visited their web site. They don't have a roller bearing model. Draw your own conclusions.

This bar was even easier to install;when I did not use the spacers included, because I installed it at the end of the counter, where there was just over 5" space(gap) opening between the stove and counter, next to the sink.
It is also good that the spacers are included to give options on the instalation.

There are NO ball bearings in the slide. The slide sticks and is hard to move in/out. This is do to cheap plastic bearing material being utilized inside the metal mounting bar.

We are extremely disappointed with this and have thrown it away, a real waste of $$.

We purchased the 12" version, also a Rev-A-Shelf brand, at a local Lowes. This one has a ball bearing slide and moves in/out without any effort or sticking.

I cannot understand why the 12" unit has ball bearings and the larger unit does not.
