This is a very attractive and shiny retro-style pedestal fan (I may become OCD trying to keep fingerprints off). The "Pelonis" label is on the center but it doesn't distract too much from the overall look. I like to leave it out even when not in use. It doesn't look or feel cheap in my opinion. Unlike another reviewer, my fan blades were metal. I think everything was metal aside from the heavy ceramic (?) base that anchors it (hidden by metal base). Assembly was easy, requiring only a screwdriver. I used one flathead for all the screws without much difficulty. I may suggest having another person assist in the assembly as the base and motor are heavy. But I'm a small woman and I assembled it completely upright on my own and managed fine. However, I also felt the directions for assembly were poorly written, but it's not unlike most pedestal fans in construction so I'm confident most people won't need to refer to it anyway.

It functions just as I expected. It would work fine in a small room. The airflow was fine in my 15'x15' room. Oscillation and fan speeds are fine. I haven't fiddled with the tilt too much. Due to the motor being so heavy, any adjustments to the tilt must be very secure. You have to untighten the screws at the base of the motor, adjust the tilt to desired angle, and retighten screws. So it isn't convenient to adjust the tilt but it is possible. Finally, it is not whisper quiet, but I knew that when purchasing it. Small trade-off for aesthetics and materials. However, at the highest speed the sound it emits is similar to tinnitus. It won't be an issue for me (don't like fans at high speeds), but it might be something for you to consider before purchasing.

Overall, I'm quite happy with my retro chrome pedestal fan.

I got this product after lots of research. I have to say the fan looks very impressive in its looks and looks great in living room; and works fine. Now having used it for few months during summer, I noticed wear & tear which to me was very surprising. The lid which covers the motor is so flimsy that it just comes out on its own particularly when the fan is in rotation. I have to keep pushing in every now and then since it looks shabby. Although nothing is broken but the design flaw of the motor cover which is apparently devoid of any screws and is only squeezed underneath the anterior part. Disappointing!
